Dektu & Dekrol are two traditional villages of Banar ethnic minority. The most distinctive aspect of a Bahnar village is its Rong house or communal house, the roof of which may be up to 20m high and slightly curved
The Rong house is the centre of village cultural and ceremonial life, and also the home of adolescent boys, who are taught Banar history, the skills of hunting and other manly matters.
The village houses grouped around the Rong house are typically house-on-stilt with a thatched or tiled roof, and are often decorated with geometric motifs. Bahnar people also erect funeral houses and decorate them with elaborate carvings, though they are not as imposing as those of the Jarai. After the burial, wooden statues, gongs, wine jars and other items of family property will be placed in the funeral house.

DETAIL ITINERARY
08:30 Pick up at your hotel in Pleiku, visit to natural lake of T’nung which is situated on the mouth of a volcano of million years.
09:30 Continue on to Dektu & Dekrol villages for sightseeing and exploring the Banar’s culture with the Rong house that is the centre of village cultural and ceremonial life.
10:30 We will visit a cemetery of the Banar with the wooden statues, gongs, wine jars and other items of family property are placed in the funeral house.
13:00 In the afternoon, visit Gialai Museum of Ethnology, you have a chance to learn more about the Bahnar and Jarai people’s culture. Continue on to visit Pleiku former prison, Minh Thanh pagoda and the local market of Pleiku.
17:00 Drop off at the hotel.
